Especially when the war looked easy to win. <br /><br />Second, he knew a war would also give him and his party dominance of the domestic political landscape.<br /><br />Third, was his Daddy complex. By whipping Saddam he could step out of his father's shadow. <br /><br />Fourth, was Bush's need to be a big hero to compensate for his cowardice during Vietnam. 9-11 was his dream come true.<br /><br />I think these reasons may have been enough for his war. <br /><br />Oil, Neocon Zionism, and Cheney/Rumsfeld greed for money and power all contributed to the war's inevitability.
