Racism and War: The Dehumanization of the Enemy (& of Ourselves)

Our real enem(ies) are not the ones living in a distant land whose names or policies we don't understand: the real enemy is a system that wages war when it's profitable, the CEO's who lay us off our jobs when it's profitable, the Insurance Companies who deny us Health care when it's profitable, the Banks who take away our homes when it's profitable. Our enemies are not several hundred thousands away. They are right here in front of us. - Mike Prysner

Racism and War: The Dehumanization of the Enemy (Some editing was added - Ed.)

Mike Prysner describes a mission he took part in (in) which his unit forced Iraqis out of half a dozen homes, with no compensation, so the US military could use them. “One family in particular, a woman with two small girls, very elderly man, and two middle-aged men — we dragged them from their houses and threw them onto the street, and arrested the men because they refused to leave.” Since he left, he has been plagued by guilt “anytime I see a mother with her children, like the one who cried hysterically and screamed that we were worse than Saddam as we forced her from her home . . . anytime I see a young girl like the one I grabbed by the arm and dragged into the street.”

Prysner also describes the physical abuse of a wounded prisoner, with a sandbag over his head and his hands tied behind his back. “We were told we were fighting terrorists; the real terrorist was me, and the real terrorism is this occupation.”

The children we have sent to do our dirty work have returned to cut out our hearts. You won't be surprised at who has the link. Are we at the level of Rome yet? See for yourself. Suzan _______________________

Suzan, this is a tear-jerker for me. And yet, Bill the Bloody and Joe the Liar want more war. I think Pogo got it right when he said, "We have met the enemy and he is us". How many dollars left before the revolution?

I'm with you, sweetie. Can't cry much harder though as things have turned out so badly so far that it's hard to imagine any worse.

Wish I didn't sound like a conspiracist but I cannot for the life of me see how the next war won't usher in prison camps for those who question it and death and destruction on the rest of the US population as the money has almost already vanished out of the country.

The elderly stuck here with what's left of the Social Security "budget" (whatever they claim that to be) prolly won't be able to wage a revolution. They'll be too busy starving and writhing on the floor without their meds/health care.

As you've prolly noticed, I don't trust any of these people and certainly not the MSM.

I view all the "terrorist" coverage as just PR for the wars.

Thanks for caring!

P.S. My Scot grandfather and I used to fight over the comics looking to read the latest Pogo strip when I was just a babe. He got a good laugh from my comments and was always surprised at my responses.

Those were the days - when that phrase was humorous.

"We have met the enemy and he is us".

Well said, Suzan. Al Dubya is still a greater threat than Al Qaeda ever was.

We are our own worst enemy. And that former solider is exactly right.

Thanks TC and Nunya.

Gosh! I do it because I'm so dismayed (horrified) at what continues to go on and on without most people even being aware of how they are manipulated on a daily basis by the MSM.

Thanks, again. It's a labor of love.

And Lisa, girl!

Do you think these people will ever be embarrassed that it took sooooo looooonnnnggg for them to WAKE UP and smell the murder???

Lisa G. said...

Shit, they haven't been embarrassed by anything they've done yet, so why would they start now?

Cirze said...

I can't argue with that reasoning, Lisa.

Happy New Year?
