If you think the great American Experiment is not over, take a gander at these facts below.
Monday, June 13, 2011 Why Goldman Sachs is "Home Free" We should not be surprised that Wall Street banks like Goldman Sachs have not faced criminal charges. First, the investigative bodies, the FBI and the SEC, have been advised to take their time so that the banking system will not be imperiled. From whence do such recommendations that impede justice come? Secondly, the idea that those who were in positions of power, who helped create the financial crisis that erupted in 2008, are the ones who best know how to resolve the financial crisis they created. Geithner, Blankfein and other executives are still in positions of power and as far as I can tell, the banking sector is the only part of the economy that is flourishing. Stability of the banks on Wall Steet takes precedence over the recovery of Main Street; however, the success of the economy is not based solely on the amount of money made by the likes of Goldman Sachs!Wherein we learn the hard truth about democracy and our so-called defunct democratic republic (which the U.S. was intended to be) from Chuck at Bad Attitudes:Why No Handcuffs For Wall Street Bankers? Interview by Dylan Ratigan
. . . we’re left with an American princeps; a republic in form only, in reality a principate backed by an all-consuming war machine. And if you wanna compare some Great Lies . . . just read below.. . . as has been pointed out repeatedly by Glenn Greenwald, and Bruce Ackerman, David Swanson and others, no president has so blatantly violated the constitutional division of war powers as President Obama in his ongoing attack on Libya, without a nod even to the statutory War Powers Act, that post-Pentagon Papers effort by Congress to recapture something of the role assigned exclusively to it by the Constitution. This open disregard of a ruling statute (regardless of his supposed feelings about its constitutionality, which Obama has not even bothered to express) is clearly an impeachable offense, though it will certainly not lead to impeachment — given the current complicity of the leaders of both parties — any more than President George W. Bush’s misleading Congress into his crime against the peace, aggression, in Iraq, or President Johnson’s lies to obtain the Tonkin Gulf Resolution.
Did Qaddafi Really Order Mass Rapes? Or is the West Falling Victim to a Viagra-strength Scam? By Russ Baker June 11, 2011 ARTICLE SUMMARY: After all the other fake stories used to whip up public support for wars, you’d think we had learned something. Apparently not, judging from the media’s unquestioning spreading of claims that Qaddafi ordered Viagra-fueled rapes—claims that look dubious under even a little scrutiny. Not too worried about all that radiation pouring out into the sea from Japan yet? From our friend at Twelfth Bough we learn the hard truth about the effects of long-term low doses of radiation, much of it from power plant leakages/accidents (think Chernobyl), Iraq or springing up from (surprise!) poorly regulated third-world biomedical labs (which our rulers are more than willing to ignore for our own good), and all the places in the world that are preparing scenarios leading to our eventual nasty physical demise. As if our financial demise won't be grim enough.
WHAT might they be doing? Radiating things to cause mutations perhaps? Things like cells, viruses, bacterias? . . . In Iraq, the US Army Corps of Engineers discovered that 85 clinics, US BUILT PUBLIC HEALTH CLINICS, have been leaking low level radiation for FOUR YEARS. Oopsie. REGRETTABLE, huh? For sure. It wasn't Iraqi contractors who built those clinics, it was US contractors. SURELY they would know how to do something like build run-of-the-mill health clinics? How long has X-ray technology been in use? How many decades? What could possibly be the EXCUSE for getting it wrong 85 times? . . . It just so happens that low-level radiation is extremely damaging to CELL MEMBRANES. A long term exposure of extremely low radiation (i.e., one-ten millionth of a rad per minute) was found to be 100 BILLION times MORE lethal than a short term exposure to exceedingly high level radiation (i.e., 10,000 rads per minute). As it turns out . . . at exceedingly high radiation levels, the abundant free radicals generated in tissues tended to cancel each other out before they could do cellular damage. But at extremely low levels of radiation, these same free radicals - produced in minuscule quantities - remain unchecked. And any steady stream of unchecked free-radicals will efficiently and lethally cleave lipid cellular membranes like a hot knife slicing through butter once they overwhelm and exhaust cellular antioxidant defenses. So, we are thinking that some people know exactly what is going on, and they are using the people of the world as a big, giant laboratory, and we are the lab rats. Next up: FREE FLU SHOTS for the good people of Iraq? But, hey, according to the MSM Gabby Giffords is all right! No need for renewed efforts for gun control (or any serious response to this tragedy). Everything's curable~

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) looked great in the first photos seen of her since she was critically injured by a gunshot to the head. The photos were released to her Facebook page Sunday.
The photos were taken May 17, a day after Giffords witnessed the launch of the Space Shuttle Endeavour with her husband Commander Mark Kelly aboard. She was scheduled to have skull surgery the next day.
Edit: Despite this great news, a Giffords' staffer gave this "blunt assessment" -and reality-check- of where she is today.
"She's living. She's alive. But if she were to plateau today, and this was as far as she gets, it would not be nearly the quality of life she had before," Carusone said. "There's no comparison. All that we can hope for is that she won't plateau today and that she'll keep going and that when she does plateau, it will be at a place far away from here."
