THEY Are Deciding Our Economic Future And WE (As Usual) AREN'T Invited???!!!!!

Won't it be a lark in the future when the impoverished citizens of the U.S. learn that Bill Clinton was a part of the Fraud Team who touted the poorly-educated (but highly prized by the extremely well-connected) Paul Ryan as "uniquely smart" in order to give him the standing to run the House Budget Committee and say with sonorous gravity that the U.S. can't afford the programs already funded for seniors and the vulnerable because the deficit running sky-high - from the ongoing choice wars and tax cuts - has to be brought into balance first?

Now that's a conspiracy theory.

I hate these asswipes even though it is Mother's Day and I'm trying to  maintain an even keel.

Happy Mothers' Day, Assssssssssssssses!

Will Dems Go For “Austerity” In The US?

(Maybe we’ll find out on May 15th…)

Will Democrats Embrace “Austerity American Style”? Crash This Party And Find Out

By Richard (RJ) Eskow

Heard about the meeting that’s being held to decide your economic future? If the answer’s “no,” don’t feel bad: That’s because you weren’t invited.

But Tim Geithner was. So was Rep. Paul Ryan, the Republican member of Congress whose radical right-wing plans for cutting Medicare have made him the subject of a Mitt Romney “bromance.” So was Bill Clinton, who showed up last year and uttered the usual Beltway insider’s falsehoods about what’s really wrong with Social Security.

Hey, maybe your invitation to billionaire Pete Peterson’s “Fiscal Summit” got lost in the mail. Or maybe they really, really didn’t want you there. Who cares? That’s no reason not to go anyway.

Hey, Sen. Bernie Sanders wasn’t invited, and his proposal for Social Security was much more popular with the American people than anything that’s likely to be discussed at this little get-together.

David Byrne is 60 today. Welcome to the Monkey House, David (h/t to BLCKDGRD).

And among the same Fraud Team (maybe we can enter them in the next Olympics?) tales of horror, we consider the waste from the lies concerning the hardware required by the military. From my buddy, Montag, at The Burned Over District:

Lockheed Cobbs Together A Pile of Crap

And all the Naval procurement people whose careers are invested in the Littoral Combat Ship ooh and ahh and hand Lockheed $ Billions. And then give Lockheed $ Billions more to fix all the problems and maybe get the ship able to perform the mission originally called for.

Aviation Week gives us a close up look at LCS-1, a ship that appears to have been designed by people who have never built a ship or been to sea.

And we have only paid $8 Billion so far. No wonder the Republican/Teabaggers want to cut SNAP and SSI and Medicare and Pell Grants and everything non-defense. What with the LCS-1 and the F-22 Craptor and the F-35 Land Crab, Lockheed will need lots and lots more of our money to make weapons systems that wouldn't be threatened by WW I technology.

Funny how the lies pile up at times like these, isn't it? It's almost (almost) hard to imagine what all those wasted billions of defense dollars could have provided to the taxpayers of the USA USA usa, isn't it?
